CSI Youth Mission Trip to India

By God's grace, 10 youth members of CSI churches across America were able to answer His divine call. From December 29, 2009 to January 11, 2010, these youth joined together to participate in a CSI Youth Missions Trip to India. They visited Bethel Ashram, Aasha Bhavan, the Kuttanad Mission, and the Mysore Mission. From our church, Manju Sebastian, Justin Cherian and Carol Kuruvilla joined the trip. The youth taught Bible songs, led arts and crafts sessions, wrote skits, taught English and shared in fellowship with their fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. It was an eye-opening experience that drew the youth closer to God. The missions trip was a blessed time of worship and prayer. Please continue to support this missions movement with your prayers. Please visit the website, www.csimissions.org to view photos from the trip and to get further updates.

A General Body meeting was held on January 10, 2010 after the worship service. Mrs. Anu Eapen, Mr. Varghese Ipe and Mr. John Eapen were selected to the Board of Trustees for a three-year term ending in December 2012. Mr. Cherian P. Cherian and Mr. Renoi Thomas were selected as our Internal Auditors for 2010.

Mr. Arun Andres and Mr. Varghese Ipe served as the recording secretaries of the meeting. In his Presidential address, our Achen thanked all the trustees for serving in the Board and taking various responsibilities during last year.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Super Bowl of Caring

This year's Souper Bowl of Caring will take place on February 7, 2010. Our Youth Fellowship will take part in the nationwide fundraising for the needy, on Super Bowl Sunday. 100% of the proceeds will go towards charity. This year, the youth have decided to use the funds to support the relief efforts in Haiti. We hope that this small donation will bring renewed life and happiness to our Haitian brothers and sisters.

Hudson Valley's youth have participated in the Souper Bowl of Caring for 11 years. We have raised over $2,500 for various Christian charities through our yearly Souper Bowl of Caring drive. We pray that, in the years to come, we can continue to demonstrate God's love through this wonderful event.

Healing Ministry Sunday

February 14, 2010 will be observed as Healing Ministry Sunday. Our members who are working in the Healthcare field will be leading various parts of our worship service. The healing ministry Sunday is a time of a renewal of our commitment to be meaningful healers, and to be aware of issues related to health, healing and wholeness. For our reflections this year, Christian Medical Association of Inida has chosen the theme “Sharing the Pain”. This year’s event will be coordinated by Miss Manju Sebastian.

Youth Bible Study

Monthly Youth Bible Study will be held on February 19, 2010, Friday, at 6 PM at our parsonage. The topic selected for discussion is "How to deal with Failure". All youth members are requested to attend this Bible Study session.
