Our ChoirOur Choir is an active part of our worship service and has grown considerably over the 10 years since it was formally installed by our Bishop, Rt. Rev. Sam Mathew, in August of 1995. We presently have 30 talented members. Our Choir has since then participated in numerous activities of our church and our sister parishes. Our main programs are our Christmas Carol Service, which is always inspiring, Regional Joint-Christmas Carol, Regional Easter Song Service, our Church Convention, and Choir Night at the National Conference. We learn new songs and perform them for our congregation during our “themed” Sundays many times throughout the year. Mr. Arun Andrews Punnen is our Choir Master. He is an accomplished and well-recognized musician, and has conducted our choir to high levels of distinction. Please continue to pray for our members and for the success of this vital ministry within our church. President: Rev. Mathew P. George - email achen(at)csihudsonvalley(dot)org
Sunday SchoolThe Sunday school is one of the most important activities of our church. Its effect on the children by bringing them closer to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is immeasurable. The Sunday School teaches children discipline, life-applicable lessons from Scripture, and trains our future church and community leaders to be strong Christians that are wise in scripture and strong in faith. It is a unique program that meets the future needs of the church as no other program of the church can. For further information about our program, please contact the Sunday School Superintendent. Our academic year is from January 1 - December 31. The Sunday School officials for the academic year 2007:
We currently have 10 students, 6 teachers and 2 teacher assistants. We have a total of 5 classes divided according to age and grade.
We have Sunday School every Sunday at 10:30 am to 11:45 am. A worship service session with songs, readings, and offertory is held before the children depart for their classes. The classes are typically 30 minutes long where bible stories are taught to the children. Coloring and crafts are incorporated into bible lessons for the younger kids. We are currently using the David C. Cook curriculum in all our classes. Our academic year is divided into 2 halves and we have a mid- term exam after the 1st half and a final exam is given at the end of the academic year. The Sunday School academic year concludes with our annual Sunday School Anniversary Day Celebrations. Events for the rest of the academic year 2008:
